2025 - What a Great Year for devfu!

Looking back on the year that has passed, it’s great to be able to be proud of what we achieved as a team!

Our Q1 release of LineupBoard was the biggest update in our history! We completely redeveloped major sections of the application, namely the Manning Schedule and Reporting system to provide our users with far more flexibility and performance. The other key change was adding multilingual support for our emerging markets such as Brazil and other countries that require support for languages other than English.

Our user base continues to expand giving us a greater opportunity to help the industry and build software that fits the unique needs of each site. It’s always interesting to bring new clients onboard and notice what is consistent with our existing clients and unique needs each site has. There are always common challenges each client faces, not least of all given the current financial pressures, but we never want to lose sight of the fact that tools need to work for clients and the way they work, rather than the other way around.

It was exciting to make solid progress on devfu.one, which is our next-gen platform, in 2025. We’ve started working with clients on the initial modules that will begin to roll out in the coming months. One of the initial modules, Shift Planning, will be incredibly useful for most sites so that they can better plan their labour requirements at detailed, competency level. This will be a huge improvement over existing head-count based approaches which can end up with idle equipment when exact operational requirements are not considered.

Having an increase in people attending for our devfu day, and Mining Tech conferences made the events all the better! We greatly value the effort of the attendees to attend along with the time it takes out of their already busy schedules. It was great to be able to share our roadmap, product suite, and get feedback from clients at devfu day. Our speakers for Mining Tech 2025 gave great talks on different topics which engaged the group and sparked a lot of conversations in the breaks.

What’s ahead for 2026?

We’re back at work for 2026 and continuing on with devfu.one and other projects. We’ll be deploying the pilot instance of devfu.one with shift planning soon and then moving on to the leave management module.

To better support our products, we’ll be moving towards quarterly updates for our products. This is to ensure that our clients get security updates in a timely fashion, along with all the bugfixes that we roll out throughout the year. As always, we’ll let you know when the User Acceptance Test (UAT) instance is ready to review and only roll out updates at a time that’s convenient for you.

We’ll be hosting devfu day and Mining Tech again at the end of November. Our devfu day to go through our products, roadmap, and get feedback will be held on Thursday 26th and Mining Tech 2026 will be on Friday 27th. We’ll keep you in the loop with this throughout the year to help you plan well in advance.

By the end of 2026 we’re hoping to have an early beta version of LineupBoard in the new devfu.one platform ready to demonstrate and gather feedback on. There are a lot of improvements that we’ve wanted to include over the years that were simply not possible in the current platform. The new platform will make it possible for us to radically improve LineupBoard. We look forward to including features that have been requested by our clients as we continue to develop the next generation of a product that’s become pivotal to our clients’ day-to-day businesses.

All the best for 2026. We hope it’s a safe and prosperous year for you!
