Who is devFU?

We are a software development and technology company based in Newcastle Australia that specialises in delivering innovative software solutions to many different clients, primarily in the mining industry.

Our clients are spread globally and each has a unique set of needs that match the unique challenges they each face. The diversity of our client base allows us to continually improve our products based on our partnership with our clients.

Ensuring our clients are receiving the best level of support is our top priority and we are always excited to hear feedback from both existing clients and others in industry about how we’re exceeding expectations of support. It is always our goal to be the favourite vendor onsite by having the best possible products with the best possible support to deliver amazing value.

Our products and technologies are designed to be easy to use and robust to make using them a pleasure. Most of our software is web based to support the broadest range of devices. Some of our products run as native applications when that is the right choice.

DevFU is based in Newcastle Australia and has been providing software to industry since it was formed in June 2009.

Leadership Team

Andrew Whalan - Managing Director

DevFU is led by our Managing Director, Andrew Whalan

Andrew started his career in mining developing technical solutions as a contractor with and to a risk management company, HMS Consultants. Based on feedback from HMS, he developed a web-based document management system which was then acquired by HMS who engaged Andrew full-time where he went on to work with them.

After 2 years full-time with HMS, he then went to retrain as an engineer, and towards the end of his degree he joined Rio Tinto Coal Australia in the Hunter Valley Coalfields. Following his time with RTCA and drawing on his experience in consulting prior to that, Andrew decided to start his devFU to provide unique solutions to industry and leverage integration between existing solutions used by our clients.

Andrew has 27 years industry experience and holds degrees in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.

Jeff Bell - CFO

Jeff Bell is our CFO and helps Andrew with the evolving strategic vision for devfu along with overseeing all matters pertaining to finance and compliance.

Jeff started his involvement with devfu as our Accountant for many years, but more recently joined the team as our CFO due to his interest in becoming more intimately involved with the business and helping devfu continue to scale.

He has a broad range of experiences in Business working in a number of industry segments. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), is a CPA, and has completed the AICD Directors Course.

Michael Hudes - Advisor

Michael is the Global CEO and President of LG Ad Solution, based in Los Angeles, CA. He is an experienced, entrepreneurially driven C-level executive with a demonstrated history of digital media category creation and high performance team building and leadership.

Skilled in Digital Strategy, Sales and Revenue Operations (Managed Service and Programmatic), Sales Enablement and Training, Strategic Partnerships, and Marketing. Hudes has significant experience building and managing international networks and partners across the America’s, Europe and Asia (incl. India, China).

Michael assists Andrew with growth strategies for DevFU and helps identify key systems that are required to help devFU scale effectively as a global business.
